Joseph Smith, founder of the Mormon Church,
and Mohammad, founder of Islam, both claimed encounters with the angel Gabriel.
Gabriel delivered remarkably similar traditions to both men, in different
centuries, on different continents. Both religions are patriarchal orders that worship
the god of Moses, demand the subjugation of women, promote polygamy, modesty,
abstinence from alcohol, sexual purity, temple building, have their own cannon
of scripture, and believe in a god of judgment who kills, steals and destroys.
