The Way (Tao) of Compassion
Jesus said "The poor will always be with you".
He called his followers into compassionate service. Due to the rising up of Marxist propaganda in the church, it is necessary to make a distinction between compassionate service, charity, and redistribution of wealth.
Jesus told us a parable of a good Samaritan to demonstrate his teaching of compassionate service.
He called us to help those that we find in our own path. He called upon us to take personal responsibility for our brothers, out of a loving and compassionate heart. He called us to bind up their wounds with our own hands. To enter into a compassionate relationship with them that edifies both parties. Jesus taught us that life changing compassion is messy, inconvenient, voluntary, and motivated by love.
Paul taught you charity. Paul is not the Christ. Jesus is. Paul collected money and goods from the saints and redistributed them. We call this charity. It ended and destroyed the teaching of compassion.
Compassion is based on love. Charity is based on compulsion, which breeds resentment.
Charity is what we do when we are not compassionate. We send someone money and authorize them to practice compassion on our behalf, so that we do not have to dirty our hands with the messiness and inconvenience of actually pulling our brother out of a ditch and binding up his wounds ourselves.
Compassion, which is love, dictates that we spend our money, and use our resources, to redeem, restore, our brother to health and wholeness.
This is not a one time offering. This is a lifestyle of service. This is housing, feeding, loving and providing medical care for recovering heroin addicts. This is loving and mopping the brows and cleaning up the vomit of aids patients. This is housing and interacting with and caring for the elderly, the homeless, the abused and hopeless.
It is these self sacrificing acts of compassion that reveal to the unloved their worth, their value, to you, to god and to the world.
This cannot be accomplished by throwing money at them. Charity serves to further diminish the already diminished. It reinforces their belief that they are unworthy of love, unworthy of self sacrificing love, which is the love of Christ.
The pure religion of Christ is to care for the widows, the orphans and the poor. This means a self sacrificing, loving relationship. A messy and inconvenient relationship. A hands on, practical, long term relationship.A redemptive relationship, in which they come to see their own worth and their own value.
Marxism, also known as communism and socialism, is compulsary redistribution of wealth. It is, in fact, theft. It is not just. It is tyranny and theft. It produces more millionaires than any other type of economic system, and more poor, because it is theft. Millions have starved to death under such systems.
If your church, claiming to be in Christ, is teaching theft, the redistribution of wealth, socialism, they are not in Christ, but imposters of Christ. Wolves, devourers in sheeps clothing. Flee from such churches and their doctrines.
Jesus taught voluntary compassion, based upon a heart of loving kindness. At no point did he authorize you to steal another mans money at gunpoint and redistribute it.
Jesus is not a thief.
The Buddha established a republic for his followers. Karl Marx put you in chains.
